Gulf Oil has been synonymous with motorsport racing since the 1960’s with their sponsorship of the John Wyer Racing team that ran the Gulf livery on their Ford GT40’s of the late 60’s, and Porsche race cars, most notably the mighty 917. Over the years Gulf has sponsored myriad racing racing teams in many classes of motorsport. In 2023 their partnership with Williams Racing brings the storied marque to the pinnacle of racing, Formula one. As a tribute to Gulfs iconic color scheme, Williams will be sporting a very special Gulf livery for three races in 2023. We think the designers have done a magnificent job paying homage to the Gulf brand.
