About the Artist:
Emmett Fritz (1917-1995)
Emmett, also known as Emmett John Fritz, is a Painting Legend in Florida. Fritz spent many winters (and other months) painting in a small gallery on George Street in Saint Augustine. He also spent some time painting in the summer up North in the New England areas. At one time he did what he called “mud paintings” but he was known for his precise vibrant colors in watercolors and oils. Emmett was extremely fond of Saint Augustine and did numerous street scenes of the area.

Emmett and Joseph Freck were friends and Freck purchased numerous works from Emmett which he eventually sold or gave to family as gifts over the years. Fritz remains one of Joseph Freck’s all-time favorite artists. Freck’s Auto Art is now active in selling and purchasing Fritz’s Works and is pleased to offer this piece to our customers.
