Peter Collins was a very popular British Formula One driver in the 1950’s. He was good friends and a teammate of Mike Hawthorn (the 1958 World Champion) at Ferrari. Collins was an aggressive and respected racing pilot. He scored 47 career points, including 3 wins and 9 podiums. Collins died from a fatal crash at the 1958 German Grand Prix at Nurburgring. Michael Hawthorn was so disturbed over Collins death that he retired from racing right after winning the 1958 World Championship. To this day Peter Collins’ autograph is highly collectable and not that easy to obtain.
