The winning Porsche 919 hybrid is depicted exiting the second Chicane on its way to a stunning victory. Driven by Earl Bamber, Nico Hulkenberg, and Nick Tandy it secured the 17th win for the German manufacturer on the 45th anniversary of that first win at Le Mans.
Reinforcing Porsche supremacy was the #17 car of Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley, and Mark Webber, painted in 917 tribute colors, which finished in second position. The no. 18 Porsche 919 of Romain Dumas, Neel Jani, and Mark Lieb started from pole position, breaking the circuit’s lap record in qualifying, finishing the race in 5th position. A historic victory in the 83rd running of Le Mans.
