Artist Description:
Le Mans, June 18-19, 1994. With two hours to go, the Dauer Porsche 962 of Hurley Haywood, Yanick Dalmas and Mauro Baldi took command of the race. Behind it, the Toyota 94C-V of Jeff Krosnoff, Eddie Irvine and Mauro Martini was involved in a mano-a-mano with the Shell-sponsored Dauer Porsche 962 of Thierry Boutsen, Danny Sullivan and Hans-Joachim Stuck for second place. With 2 laps to go, The Toyota passed the Porsche finishing a lap behind the winning car. Behind the leaders, the Kremer K8 Spyder of Bell, Donovan Lasig, sixth overall, and the IMSA GTS class winner Nissan 300ZX Turbo of Millen, O’Connell, Morton, fourth overall. This win gave Porsche its 13th victory at La Sarthe, and for the drivers it was Haywood’s 3rd, Dalmas’ 2nd and the first for Mauro Baldi.
