Antique Afshar Persian Oriental Rug

Highly collectable Afshar rug in extraordinarily good condition for the age. Rug has heavier pile overall. Complete at selvedge edges and fringe ends. The center of the rug is a beautiful symmetrical pattern of boteh (Seed of Life) motifs and is surrounded by decorative borders. This hand-knotted rug is made of cut sheep’s wool pile and is on a wool backing. Some of the prominent colors in this rug include indigo, ivory, carnellian, prussian and sky blues, burnished gold, coral and terra cotta.
