Drving a Lotus 38, Jim Clark averaged over 150 mph for the first time to win the 1965 Indianapolis 500.  Into second place came Parnelli Jones driving the Hurst Special followed by Mario Andretti in the Dean Van Lines Special. The first three cars were all powered by Ford.
