| This beautifully executed print is taken from an original
painting by the late English artist Gavin Macleod. The scene memorializes
the great Emerson Fittipaldi winning the 1993 Indianapolis 500. In
a race that appeared to be shaping up as a personal duel between teammates
Nigel Mansell, an F1 veteran, and Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi flashed
into the picture and out of sight to claim an amazing ninth Indy triumph
for car owner Roger Penske.
Fittipaldi never led a lap in his Marlboro '93 Penske-Chevy-C until
sweeping past Mansell on a restart to begin Lap 184. The 1989 Indy victor
made it stick - overcoming another late yellow and pressure from Arie Luyendyk
to beat the pole-sitter to the checkered flag by 2.682 seconds. Fittipaldi
broke a Victory Lane tradition by sipping orange juice before the traditional
bottle of milk. This edition was limited to only 350 signed and numbered
prints. Through special arrangement with Freck's Auto Art,
Fittipaldi autographed the very few remaining copies. Once
these are gone, they are gone for good, so get yours today! |
