Chris Amon was one of the best and unluckiest drivers of his era,
never winning the F-1 championship but often competitive with anyone.
He drove McLaren Can-Am cars in 1965 and 1966. The image depicts him in
the #5 McLaren M1B at Bridgehampton in 1966, where he finished second
to Dan Gurney but ahead of boss Bruce McLaren.

the title in 1961 driving a Ferrari Type 156 1.5 liter V6, dubbed "The

"Jimmy and The Lotus"

Jim Clark won a number of races in the innovative Lotus 49, the first
successful formula car to use the engine, bolted to a monocoque chassis,
as a structural member carrying the rear suspension. He won his first
outing in the car using the Cosworth DFV engine in 1967 at Zandvoort.
His win in a 49 at the South African Grand Prix a year later was his last
before he was killed in an F2 race at Hockenheim..
